Looks just like they were back in the late eighty's  , with prices to match  ;D

I doubt if it would be a big seller. After all, most people do not place their belongings in a storage unit thinking they might lose them for non payment.

Good point Westgabargins and My thoughts too.

The auctioneer was really a nice guy . He was just starting out building His business At one $65 locker We won , 4 bidders there  ( 3 & the 3 of us ) it had a set of golf clubs in it that he was drooling over , as we walked back to the office , Cheryl leaned them against his rear bumper , We have had a good relationship with Him ever since .
We started with him when he was just mailing out a list , no web site etc.             Ron's company eventually grew into this one .

Regarding HER locker , Moe Tweedy loaded it in his truck and gave it to her the next weekend at the Cascade Flea Market , Old Orchid Beach , Me.  , She made out pretty good as I recall , sold a lot to the little kids for $ 1.00 or less .

Excellent Observation Copia Vita , Right On , at least in my area , the Yuppies are spending like crazy and still buying more lockers , even after mentioning in casual conversation that they haven't been able to sell any of the " regular household stuff " they won last month , and asked us how to get rid of it ?
She didn't want to waste her time sitting around at a  flea market all day ?   ::)
I can't say if they are dropping out as We have cut back on going do to the INSANITY Lately , but have seen a lot of New faces at the ones We have gone too , and all they can talk about is the TV shows , and have any of us  scored something valuable ? ( like we would tell them ) .

  The Good Old Days
When our daughter was 7 or 8 We were at an auction with just one other regular ( our friend and mentor  Moe Tweedy that got us involved in the storage auctions , He was selling next to Us at a flea market in Maine and camping in the same campground , filled us in around the campfire , and invited Us to meet him at a couple of upcoming auctions )
He was buying up everything for his stores but let Us have a couple of small ones .
When one locker was opened , it was filled mostly with dolls and toys , Moe looked away , the auctioneer looked at Cheryl and asked if She had received her allowance or did she need to borrow some money ?                                                                     She answered   No ,  I have $ 5.00 , and the auctioneer looked around and yelled SOLD .      ;D

Storage Auctions "In The News" / Re: Auction Hunters Summer Season, 2011
« on: August 30, 2011, 11:35:12 PM »
At the auctions here in Central Mass.  I am hearing rumors that a Back hoe was used to place an " Empty Safe " into a Locker before a recent auction ?   ::)
I have almost stopped watching the show , except to see if they will outdo themselves with more unbelievable finds .

We put an add in Craigs and post same colored signs on two main roads leading them three blocks to our house , one of the streets the boston marathon runs on .
I have posted several on Craigs for friends , and they got compliments on the great directions , and had  large crowds show up and BUY .

I would look around for a local  and/or out of work auctioneer , check the state lic. board for someone near you ,  ask around  how much to to call an auction for you .

Hi and welcome.

I have a question for you though. Here in probable about 2 years I am planning on moving to New Bedford. Or a 30 mile radius from New Bedford. How are the auctions up there. I notice you said you were pretty much in the Boston area, but even insight from that region of Mass may be informative for me.

Thanks
You can also hit Providence Ri. and Taunton Ma. from there pretty easy .
The Biggest problem that You will have is Joe , He and his crew's  hit and buy all the auctions in that area , and have for a long time , he always had it in his auctions , and pointed out to You what items came from what lockers  if he saw you at the auction and knew you .                                                                                                                    He has  now jumped on the band wagon and is advertising  where His stock comes from  and has a special auction every  week for there storage locker inventory only .

If the link doesn't work ? His auction Zip ID. is # 7872

It sounds more believable  then Brandon and Lori from Storage Hunters finding two new Harleys  in Boston , after they left the auction to race to Skinners Auctioneers and Appraisers in Downtown Boston for a " Fast Appraisal " , on there " Scrimshaw Tusks "  then returned in time to bid on and win the Harley Locker .     ::)
 Bandit
Just for chuckles , google Skinners address and see where it is in Downtown Boston .                               Tru Tv must of arranged for a police escort , along with everything else .   ::)
