They have huge buying power and a lot of know-how.  They can buy 5 large lockers and have them cleaned out in 24 hours, and be back the next day and purchase 5 more.
I wouldn't quantify them as an ass hole just because they have a family to support and a business to run.
That is the best description of a whale. To someone trying to score a locker against one thinks in their  head a**hole. But all in it for the money. And we all strive to be the Whale. : ). (They have huge buying power and a lot of know-how.)

There is always somecheap arse who will go all Wal-Mart cheap and buy it if it looks halfway decent. Remember car seats aren't cheap but the parents sure can be.
I agree  And with all the recent recalls I will just avoid them or donate to a goodwill and let them deal with it. Have grandchildren so my ears perk up to recalls.

Thought a law passed that all infant furiture had to be inspected for re-sale due to safety issues? Any one selling infant furniture without inspection is held liable for any acciendient to an infant. I could be wrong
Was told by our Thrift store contact she could not sell infant clothing out of her store but it could be sold at a yard sale. Go figure  We have decided to avoid cribs and car seats, really would not like the liability and it seems that a responsible parent would not purchase those things from a yard sale. IOO

I have had a few, My husband had never done one, So his first he was so impressed that people paid him to take his stuff away. LOL I would wait until the first weekend of the month weather permitting. I priced my things to make them walk away. Any thing with a power cord $5.00 and up. ect. If you just want it gone price low, If you want a little profit price average. Depends on your location. Set out as much as you can on tables or two saw horses with wood. If you use a table you don't want to sell cover it with a sheet like a table clothe, because their is always someone who wants to buy what is not for sale. Our front porch furniture. Check out the flea market thread can get some pointers from there too. Go to a few and see how they are doing it. Hope that helps Good luck.

Thanks for the clarification. Sounds like a whale is the storage auction version of an a**hole!

Pretty close....Our first Auction there was a Whale but now we call him Romeo was hitting up on another bidder... LOL Found out at our next Auction he bought 14 units out of 25  available.. He was a noobie with money to spend don't think we will see him again prices to high...Just go and watch and see what is happening. We went to the next closest Auction after our first to see who were the regulars.... Still no locker tho : ( Keep us posted on how it goes.

I use a similar type database as a starting point for collecting data, then I create five other databases for statistical analysis. O.K, maybe, thats overkill, and I am a little bit of a math nerd. Guess I am an A++ personality.

I see a helmet, chaps, Harley jacket, ther must be a Harley Davidson motorcycle in the back!)

You win the prize for A+++ personality... And the last one have already heard.. Unit went for $800 crazy.

I know this sounds complicated, but if you know Excel and know what you want to achieve, you will figure it out.
Nothing worth doing is going to be super easy, and I never just "hand" answers to anyone who asks (thanks for not asking me to send you a template). I have always believed that "doing it yourself" is a better experience than having something delivered on a silver platter.

Hope this at least gets you interested enough to give it a shot.
Thanks Movieman would never ask for your  hard work just advice. I will get it very good with spread sheets. Did one for our company made end of year taxes easy. One question is on the small stuff. just general $1, $5, $10 column with an average oh wait making it to complicated (that is my problem) just a tally and punch in numbers after sales?
Just get the Quicken program, it's super for tracking just what you're describing with a lot less work.
Quicken Ok but I find it limited on I just want to know this information. I will do a little work and have exactly what information I want know.

Maybe this is to "type A" for many people, but it works for me !

Well I think I fall in the 1/2 type A . I will start working on that spread sheet now. What kinda of formula are you using? time spent at auction/loading + gas + cost at flea market + misc. advertisement cost (ebay). Oh crap I think I just moved up to Full Type A. : ).
