Hundreds of WWII U.S. Navy Patches

Hundreds of WWII U.S. Navy Patches
« on: November 13, 2013, 08:50:56 PM »
Been on a buying spree this week, picked up six lockers for $470.00 total.  In one of them that I paid $135.00 for, was four totes containing hundreds of U.S. Navy enlisted rank patches, and one bag that held rate insignia from WWII.  It'll be no easy task getting these sold, but many that I have researched are getting between $5.00-$15.00 apiece.

I think I'd be making a trip to military surplus stores.....

Save a bunch to ebay but bulk out the rest.

Nice score.

Do "Army/Navy" stores even exist anymore?  I used to enjoy going to those for army gear
for camping etc, but haven't seen one in years.

I don't think the government has much "surplus" anymore.

There is still a few around my area.  Privately owned.   They buy up surplus and resell.
Only one is a true surplus store.  Almost expired MRE's, old blankets, uniforms (new but outdated) and a ton of bags, tools like trench shovels.....from military around the world.

The rest, around here, are more survivalist/camping/gun stores.   Most of the stuff looks military but is aftermarket.

There is one just above Monterey that is really good. We make the trek up there once a year near the holidays. They have five shipping containers set up outside the store with tons of surplus. Takes a while to dig through it all.
