« on: July 21, 2011, 09:59:51 PM »California Business & Professions Code Section 21707 requires that, prior to a lien sale, the storage facility must publish notice of the sale in "a newspaper of general circulation published in the county where the sale is to be held."
I have looked into this, and the Sacramento Bee (online) does not have these notices, nor have I seen any in the last month (never looked at it before that) in the Penny Saver. I have not looked in a physical copy of the SacBee, is it possible that they print something in the paper but not put the info online?
I guess my question is, am I missing where the Sacramento area auctions are being advertised?
I live in a small Mountain Community and a small portion of the Storage Auctions in this area are listed in our small town paper. I asked one of the Storage Facility Owners why he did so. His reply was " I post in several small town papers, so it gives me the circulation I need and the cost is approx. 1/10 of running the ads in One Large Newspaper." I can tell you this much he still gets plenty of traffic and one thing everyone there likes is he does not charge Sales Tax like most the other places do.
So you might try looking in some of the smaller publications in your area!
