I wonder how the new (for me anyways) global shipping program would handle that.  Just saw / read about it on ebay and may sign up.

You will quickly learn who will combine units, stage units, or a combo of things.  The stage units imo is when they enter the unit (a no-no) and pull things they find out and up front.  Jewelry box in front and lid open, safe just under the table in front, etc. are all staged to me.  The combine unit is where they just take leftover items from other units and keep stacking it in till the next sale.  Most places are suppose to tell you, but in my area they don't.

I know at metro they combine units and don't tell you.  If not - my unit must of been shared by 3 people (white grandmother type, black family, and a chinese student).  It was one of the strangest units I had ever purchased.

I loved paypal when they first came out.  Now, IMO they are just to big and no longer customer friendly.  Once ebay bought them out years ago it all started to go down hill.  That said - they are the only option you have really for ebay.

At least in the credit card sector you know have square or the paypal swipe to accept CCs at the flea.  I myself prefer square.

I use my truck and utility trailer that I have now.  I'm working to put a brake controller on my truck and then I'll buy an enclosed trailer.  I want an enclosed trailer more for the selling side of things then buying.  My buddy who has a store has a enclosed truck.  Then we have used it only 4 times.  It's mostly used for storage.  In fact he is thinking of selling it and just getting a storage building to replace it.

Every unit that him or I have bought and cleaned out has been with a truck / utility trailer.  Except for those 4 times we used the box truck due to rain.

Not sure about your area parksleyman - but a 10x25 for $240 would worry the hell out of me if it was even 1/2 full.  Any large units in my area that are packed are $500+.  So that would worry me when bidding was so low from the regulars.  If you can't see the back - well it's a gamble for a reason.

On the washer/dryer - that sucks, but will not be the last sob story you hear.

Glad you didn't loose a bunch of money.  You can read some of my old threads when I first started.  I loss more then that on a large unit that looked good from the door.  Keep your head up, learn from the mistake, and keep on trucking.

Gratz to you adam.  One of the reasons I got into storage auctions was the chance to find old coins.  Don't matter if they are US, Mexico, Canada, or world.  I collect them all.  If you have not listed the coins, silver certs on ebay yet please drop me a IM when you do and the #.  May want to bid if they will fill some holes.

I've found live mice many times in a unit.  We normally scare the crap out of each other when I do find them.

Hit a 2-unit auction yesterday close to home.  First time this facility has had any auctions in 4 years.  I was first excited as NONE of the regulars where there.  Was all local people.  Two that I've seen on/off at the other auctions but not big hitters or old-timers.

Anyways - first locker opens and it's bare.  A can of freon, broken tv stand, new camo bag, snow board w/ ski suit in tote (we in south...NO SNOW).  I figured $50 or so - went for $90.  Other unit had 3 totes, one showing a number of PS2 games, twin matress/boxspring, some broken furniture item, and a washer.  I ran it up to $110 and stopped.  Guy that bought the 1st unit got that one also.  Not sure who he is but hope he has a store or good local for yard sales.  If that washer don't work IMO he is out of some money.  PS2 games if in the cases only go for $2 or so.  If there was a complete system in there with cords that would be another $30.  Washer working since was older model $125.  So I may have given him $30-$50 in profit or he will have a  loss.  Just not in the "pushy" mood since still have inventory and full sheds.  Plan to do spring cleaning the week of April 8th.  Then may get hungry again.

All I can say is "good luck".  As Movieman said it's very title and/or artist driven.  Then the condition comes into play, etc.  I have a bunch of LPs I got for free for cleaning out a unit.  Now the CD collection I sold for $100.  The recrods are all still sitting on/under my kitchen table.  I see where a few specific records sell on ebay.  I'm trying them in lots.  However, for what I see sales at when include fees, shipping, etc. I don't see where these people are even making $.25 a record.  I'm going to try ebay a few more times and then to the trash they go.  Just to heavy, bluky, and worth pennies to mess with much.

Now - if you have that one special record in good+ conditon you can be talking 10, 20, even $50 for that one.  But they are rare.
